Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.
Officers report they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.
The fluid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then found many other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Police say preliminary tests suggest the fluid was probably blood from a person.
"There is still no lead as to its origin; investigators are currently not aware of any injuries in connection with the event," they added.
Municipal representatives announced they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the community for details.
A senior political figure stated the attack left him speechless and required to be resolved promptly.
"This incident affects the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on online, recalling the murder of nine people by a assailant focusing on people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
